Jon’s Cocoa Crinkly Cookies

This dependable recipe makes a delicious and gorgeous cookie for ANY occasion. If you’re in a pinch you can skip the chilling step, but chilled dough makes a puffier cookie, and no one wants a flat cookie, honey

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup confectioners’ sugar

Instructions

  • Mix together cocoa, white sugar, and vegetable oil. Add eggs one at a time and beat into the mixture, and add the vanilla.
  • In separate bowl combine the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, and salt. Then stir the dry mixture into the cocoa mixture.
  • Chill the dough for at least 2 hours, covered.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Roll dough into one inch balls and roll the balls in a bowl of confectioners’ sugar to coat. Place onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool.
